Christina Hite
Director of Communications
Christina has always been drawn to community and connection, a calling that led her to walk alongside families in the foster care system. Her journey with foster care began when her friends unexpectedly welcomed two nieces into their family. Inspired by their experience, she and her husband, Dustin, became foster parents a few years later and adopted their two precious girls in 2017.
After adopting, Christina remained committed to supporting kids and families experiencing foster care. She pastored a small church focused on community engagement, creating spaces of support for vulnerable families. While continuing her pastoral work, she also took on the role of a foster parent recruiter and trainer, equipping families with trauma-informed parenting approaches.
Originally from Illinois, Christina and her family moved to Austin in 2020, to live as missional neighbors at Community First! Village, a tiny home community designed to support those overcoming chronic homelessness. She and her husband co-founded A Faithful Presence, a ministry dedicated to co-creating spaces of healing and belonging through intentional neighboring. At home and at work, Christina believes wholeheartedly in the power of a village.
Christina has a degree in Human Services from Millikin University and continued her education at Oral Roberts University, earning both a Master of Divinity and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. She loves the Austin food scene, and her perfect afternoon includes a large iced coffee and a few friendly games of pickleball with her neighbors.
